Blizzard Bag

Dear Alton Darby Elementary Parents:

Below you’ll find a link that will take you directly to the Alton Darby website for “blizzard bags”.  If we have any additional calamity days, your child should go to this page to get and complete necessary school activities. You will find that each grade has a Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 for their  reading, writing and social studies assignments.  Students will also need to click on the appropriate grade for math and science assignments so each day’s activities can be completed. Basically, there are five (5) different activities that need to be completed for each calamity day.

Your child’s teacher does have the opportunity to adjust and/or modify the work included in this website. If this does occur, the teacher will communicate the appropriate information to you. Your child should then complete the work supplied by their teacher rather than the posted work. The assignments are due two weeks after the calamity day. If you do not have a printer, assignments will be given in paper form upon returning to school. At that time, your child will have two weeks to complete the assignments for credit.  Read more information regarding this policy.

As a staff we appreciate your help in providing this support for your child’s education.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.  Thank you.

Mr. Hennes

Kindergarten Registration 2014-2015

Online sign-up begins January 6th, 2014

The Hilliard City School District will begin Kindergarten registration on Monday, January 6th, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year.  If your child will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2014, he/she is eligible to start kindergarten during the 2014-2015 school year.  Parents should visit the HCSD website (www.hilliardschools.org/welcomecenter) beginning January 6th to complete online registration and sign up for a registration appointment using the online tool SignUp Genius.  (Parents can pick up registration information at the HCSD Welcome Center, or your child’s home school.)  When all documentation has been received at the registration appointment, parents will then schedule an appointment for your child to be screened on your assigned date in March or April.  Registration and screening will take place at the Hilliard City Schools’ Welcome Center (Annex) at 5323 Cemetery Road, Hilliard.  Please don’t delay, as some appointment times fill quickly.

          ****************************PLEASE NOTE*******************************
Please be aware that the parking lot at the Welcome Center (Annex) has color-coded spaces.  Please park in the ORANGE parking spaces only.  Green spaces are designated for student parking at the McVey Innovative Learning Center, and there will be bus activity behind the Center in the green spaces as well.  We would appreciate you adhering to these guidelines in order to ensure safety for all.
