ADE Book Fair

Alton Darby Elementary’s Book Fair theme this year is “Sir Readalot’s Castle:  Enter the Kingdom of Books!”
Your child should have brought home an informational flyer last week listing the various books they’ll will be able to purchase during this book fair.  Please review it with your child so that together you can decide which items they’ll be able to purchase.
Please make plans to visit our Book Fair yourself if you’d like during any of the following times:
Before & During School:   Weds., 11/19 and Thurs., 11/20 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
After School:                      Weds., Nov. 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
If you’re too busy during Book Fair week, you can visit our online Book Fair at  (This website will be available from November 10 to November 21.)
We’re looking forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair!

PTO November Notes

Dear Alton Darby Families,
Below are the notes from the November PTO meeting.
Our next meeting will be Monday, January 12 at 7:00pm in the Media Center. We hope that you can join us!
We hope to see you at Parent Teacher Conferences next week.  I shared a couple of new websites at the PTO meeting that I think you might find very useful as we continue our work together supporting your student.
Both websites have been created by Hilliard City Schools educators and they reflect the kind of work we do with students each day.
All the best to you and your family!
Mr. Higginbotham

November Newsletter

Dear Alton Darby Families:

We are excited to be welcoming parents and guardians back to school as we get closer to Parent-Teacher Conference week, November 17-20th. This is an important time of the year where we have the opportunity to consider each child’s progress as a learner, and to talk about how we plan to continue to support them through unique learning opportunities.

One of these unique opportunities will be taking place on December 17 at 1:00 p.m. We will be hosting our Second Kids EdCamp with Darby Creek Elementary! Our First Kids EdCamp was such a huge success and so well-received that we wanted to do it again. There will be more information coming soon!

Finally, I wanted to invite you to follow us on Twitter and Facebook! We are sharing as many of the great learning experiences our kids are having as we can. The live Tweeting of the Fall Concert this year showed me the power of being connected with our families through these social media platforms. Please join us!

All the best to you and your family,
Herb Higginbotham
